Next Ballymun Strengthening Families Programme in September

Ballymun Strengthening Families Programme (SFP) is due to begin its 13th programme in September 2012. Ballymun SFP is a 15-week, evidence-based family programme, managed and funded by Ballymun Local Drugs Task Force. Delivered and supported by more than 20 agencies in the local area, evaluations show this programme to be effective in reducing family conflict, increasing family communication and organisation, and increasing parenting and teen skills.

The programme is aimed at parents/guardians and teens (12-16 years old), who have completed primary school. Parents/guardians and teens attend the programme at Geraldstown House from 6-8:30pm, once a week. We begin with a family dinner, followed by parent and teen sessions, focusing on different skills each week. In the last 50 minutes, families come together to practice the skills. Transport and childcare may be provided on request.

The next programme begins Tuesday, September 11th and meets every Tuesday for 15 weeks until December 18th. Applications for our next programme are available here. Completed forms must be received by Cliodhna, SFP Manager, by August 24th 2012.  Families can be referred to the programme by an agency or can contact us directly. All information (including handbooks for referral agents, policies and procedures, and evaluations) can be downloaded from www.ballymunlocaldrugstaskforce.ie or visit our Facebook Page for updates.
